Do You Really Need a Bridal Spray Tan Trial?
The Bridal Spray Tan Trial: Is It Really Necessary?
You wouldn’t wait until your wedding day to try your hair or makeup for the first time. Your spray tan deserves a trial run too.
A bridal spray tan trial gives you the chance to see how your colour develops so we can perfect it for the wedding day (If any adjustments are needed) and we can make any tweaks as needed.
Why a Bridal Spray Tan Trial Matters
Your wedding is not the time to experiment with colour. Your wedding day is officially the most photographed day of your life.
Maybe you normally love a deeper tan but realize you want something softer against your dress. Maybe you’ve never had a professional spray tan before. Maybe you want to even out tan lines and achieve a soft radiant glow.
That’s the point of the trial.
By wedding week, we want to already know what works for you and what we are going to do. We got you.
What Are We Actually Testing at the Bridal Trial?
Your bridal spray tan trial helps us determine much more than whether you want to be lighter or darker.
We’re looking at your ideal depth of colour (subtle radiant skin vs. deeper bronze tan), how the formula develops with your skin tone and undertone, how the tan photographs and how it wears and fades in the days afterward.
Your trial is also a chance to perfect your prep and aftercare routine before the wedding. If you're newer to spray tanning, there can be a bit of a learning curve. By your wedding-day appointment, you'll already know exactly how to prep, when to rinse and how to care for your tan so it stays even, natural and beautifully sun-kissed.
Think of it as creating your personal custom wedding-day glow formula, with no experimenting left to do when the big day arrives.
When Should You Do Your Trial?
Don’t save your first bridal spray tan for the week of your wedding.
We recommend booking your bridal spray tan trial at least 3 weeks before your wedding.
Why at least three weeks? We want to make sure your trial tan has completely faded so we’re working with a fresh canvas for your wedding-day tan.
Your trial also gives you a chance to actually live in your tan. See how the colour develops, how it looks with your bridal makeup, how it photographs in different lighting and how evenly it fades over the following days.
Most importantly, by the time of your wedding spray tan you'll know exactly what you loved and whether you'd like us to make any adjustments to your colour. We got you.
PRO TIP
Schedule your spray tan trial to overlap with your hair and makeup trial or another event where you'll be photographed, like your engagement photos, bridal shower bachelorette. This lets you see exactly how the tan looks with your bridal glam and in different lighting.
What If You Want to Change Something?
Perfect. That’s exactly what the trial is for. Just like a makeup or hair trial, the trial is so we can make any tweaks needed so the wedding day is absolute perfection !
If you loved your colour but want to go slightly deeper, we can adjust it. If it felt too dark, we can soften it. If you loved everything exactly as it was, then we know what to recreate.
Treat Your Trial Like the Real Thing
Prepare for it the same way you’ll prepare for your wedding tan.
Exfoliate properly, complete shaving or waxing beforehand and arrive with clean skin free of lotions, oils and deodorant.
Then follow your recommended rinse time and aftercare instructions so we can see how the tan actually performs on your skin.

When Should You Get Your Wedding Day Spray Tan?
For most brides, we recommend booking your final spray tan 2–3 days before the wedding.
Think of your spray tan as the last step in your wedding-week beauty prep. Pedicures, waxing, facials and massages should all be done before your spray tan, since oils, exfoliation, soaking and certain treatments can affect your colour or cause it to fade unevenly.
For a Saturday wedding, Wednesday or Thursday is your magic day. This gives your colour time to fully develop and settle into a natural, sun-kissed glow.
It also gives you time for two full rinses before getting into your wedding dress, helping ensure all of the cosmetic bronzer has been washed away and minimizing the chance of any transfer onto your dress.
